Fencing That Stood Its Ground After the '07 Storm
After the late-summer storm in '07 tore through Downtown Vineland, gusts over 60 mph left temporary fencing crumpled like paper around two active job sites near The Ave. Rain-soaked plywood panels leaned into sidewalks, blocking foot traffic past Vineland City Hall. With downtown businesses already struggling from construction noise and detours, the last thing crews needed was a safety hazard—and the city wasn’t going to wait.
We rolled in before dawn the next morning with wind-rated panels and reinforced bases designed for historic districts like this. Within two hours, our crew had reinstalled 220 linear feet of OSHA-compliant fencing that matched the aesthetic of pre-1920 storefronts. The site stayed secure through the rest of the season, and the general contractor kept their schedule without fines or delays.
Their fencing held firm through the next nor’easter—and kept our project on track downtown.
